Obverse description The obverse features the interlaced royal cipher of King Oscar II surmounted by an elaborate Swedish royal crown, rendered in fine relief against a plain field. Three additional smaller crowns are positioned flanking the monogram — one to the left, one to the right, and one below within a scrolled cartouche — symbolizing the Three Crowns of Sweden. The arc legend BRÖDRAFOLKENS VÄL (meaning 'The welfare of the brother peoples') curves along the upper periphery in bold Latin letters. The engraver's initials E.B. appear at the lower right of the field, and a small mint mark is visible at the lower left. The coin is bordered by a continuous beaded inner rim.
