| 背面描述 | The reverse presents a poignant commemorative composition depicting the Bessarabian famine of 1946–1947. In the central field, two heavily laden grain trucks are shown departing across a parched, cracked earth landscape, symbolising the forced requisition of grain from the starving population. To the left, a dense crowd of stylised human silhouettes stands witness, rendered in low relief against a receding background. The curved legend FOAMETEA DIN BASARABIA arcs prominently along the lower portion of the field, while the dedication IN MEMORIAM: and the date range 1946–1947 are inscribed in the upper field above the central scene. |

In 1946–47, a combination of severe drought, Soviet grain requisitioning quotas, and deliberate policy failures killed an estimated 150,000 to 200,000 people in Moldovan SSR — the majority in the regions historically known as Bessarabia. Soviet authorities suppressed all documentation of the famine for decades, and it was not formally recognized by the Moldovan parliament as a genocide until 2010.
A commemorative issued in 2026 places this recognition within living memory of survivors.
