正面描述 Central vignette presents a detailed pen-and-ink style illustration of the village of Schwallenbach, with a narrow lane, stone steps, a ladder, overgrown vegetation, and a church tower rising against a clouded sky. Vertical wavy-line guilloche borders flank the vignette on both sides. The denomination '50 Heller' appears in bold Gothic script at lower left and lower right, with the issuer inscription 'Wachauer / Gutschein der Markt-Gemeinde Spitz' at left and validity notice 'Notgeld / Giltig bis 30. September 1920' at right. The village name 'Schwallenbach' is printed in large Gothic lettering along the bottom margin, with printer and designer credits in small text at the lower corners.

备注

Part of the vast Austrian Notgeld wave that flooded the country between 1919 and 1922, this note was issued by the market municipality of Spitz in the Wachau valley — one of hundreds of small Austrian communities that printed their own emergency small change when the imperial coinage supply collapsed after 1918. The Wachau series from Spitz was among the more artistically ambitious local issues, with designs commissioned from Liesl Kinzel, a Viennese artist whose work appears across several regional Notgeld sets of the period.

Eduard Sieger's Vienna workshop handled production for numerous municipal Notgeld commissions during these years. Schwallenbach is a small riverside hamlet within the Spitz administrative area, and its inclusion as a named locality on the 50 Heller denomination reflects the hyper-local pride that distinguishes Wachau Notgeld from purely utilitarian emergency issues.
