| Reverse description | The reverse is printed in black on plain white paper within a thin double-lined rectangular border. The upper left area carries a four-line verse in Gothic blackletter script extolling the local wine of Straß in an Austrian dialect. The central portion bears a block of roman-type text declaring the note interest-free and redeemable by the Gemeinde Straß in legal tender during the period 1 to 31 December 1920. A guilloche underprint of large interlocked numeral cyphers is faintly visible in the background, and a final cautionary line at the bottom warns that counterfeiting is punishable by law. |
