| Obverse description | Left-facing bust of Cérès in intaglio, her hair braided and crowned with a wreath of wheat, grapes, and olive branches, occupies the left portion of the note against a vignette of the Gardens of Versailles with topiary and classical landscape. To the right, a reclining allegorical female statue in the neoclassical style is set within the same parkland scene. The denomination '50' appears in large numerals at upper left and upper right, flanked by ornamental leaf-pattern borders. |
