The composition depicts the king mounted on a rearing horse, rendered in the Baroque style characteristic of Diego Rodríguez de Silva y Velázquez, whose work is preserved in the Museo Nacional del Prado, Madrid. The legend ESPAÑA VELÁZQUEZ 2013 is inscribed along the periphery in Latin characters. |
