| Reverse description | The reverse, designed by Canadian artist Joel Kimmel, presents an elaborate maple leaf composition executed with selective plating techniques to achieve striking tonal contrast. A single large gold-plated maple leaf commands the central field, overlapping two silver-finished maple leaves at its base, while a finely engraved background of additional maple leaves is rendered visible through a layer of black rhodium plating. Maple sprigs and buds treated in solid black rhodium form an intricate filigree border framing the composition within the coin's circumference. The legends CANADA and 2020 appear in the upper and lower fields respectively. |
