| Obverse description | Draped bust of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, facing right, wearing traditional keffiyeh and agal, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. The Arabic legend صاحب السمو رئيس الدولة (His Highness The President) curves along the upper periphery, with the founding year ١٩٧٣ (1973) to the right and the anniversary year ٢٠٠٣ (2003) to the left. The denomination ٥٠ درهماً (50 Dirhams) appears in the lower central field, beneath which the commemorative legend الذكرى الثلاثون (The 30th Anniversary) and the issuer name مصرف الإمارات العربية المتحدة المركزي (Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates) are inscribed along the lower rim. |
