| Obverse description | The obverse features a dual-portrait composition commemorating the UAE's Golden Jubilee. A color portrait of the reigning ruler H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi is depicted prominently, juxtaposed with a black-and-white portrait of the founding father H.H. Sheikh Saqr bin Muhammad Al Qasimi. The years 2021 and 1971 appear in the field, referencing the anniversary period. The design combines modern color printing techniques with a traditional coin format, honoring both contemporary leadership and the nation's founding legacy. |

| Additional information |
The KM#133 fifty-dirham piece was issued to mark the transition from Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, who ruled Ras al-Khaimah for over half a century until his death in 2010, to the broader federal commemorative tradition maintained by the UAE Central Bank. Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the obverse authority, died in May 2022 — making 2021 one of the final years any UAE commemorative was struck under his presidency.
