Additional information

Fiji has issued legal tender collector coins under licensing agreements with various IP holders for decades, but the Street Fighter II series — released through the Pobjoy Mint — represents one of the more direct pipelines between Japanese gaming IP and Pacific island monetary authority. Capcom's Street Fighter II, first released in arcades in 1991, became one of the highest-grossing arcade games in history and generated more licensed merchandise than almost any title of its generation.

The 50 cent face value is purely nominal. No one is spending this in Suva.
