| 正面描述 | The Costa Rican national coat of arms is rendered in high relief at the center of the field. The arms feature three volcanic peaks rising above a plain, flanked by a rising sun on the left horizon, with two sailing vessels depicted in the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean respectively. Seven five-pointed stars arc above the shield, representing the seven provinces of the republic. The shield is surmounted by a laurel wreath and flanked by nine flags. The circumferential legend reads REPUBLICA DE COSTA RICA above and AMERICA CENTRAL below, with the date appearing at the base. Note: varieties exist with differences in the detail of the coat of arms; only type KM#189.1 exhibits medal alignment. |
