| Obverse description | Draped bust of Liberty facing left, her hair bound with a fillet inscribed LIBERTAD and tied with a ribbon at the nape. A circular Type VIII Costa Rican counterstamp, approximately 5 mm in diameter and depicting the national arms with the legend HABILITADA POR EL GOBIERNO, is applied to the upper right of the field. The peripheral legend ESTADOS UNIDOS DE COLOMBIA arcs around the upper field, with the date 1885 positioned in the lower exergue flanked by six-pointed stars. |
