| Obverse description | The old national arms of El Salvador occupy the centre of the coin, featuring a quartered shield with a volcanic landscape and other traditional emblems, surmounted by a Phrygian cap radiating sunrays and flanked by laurel and palm branches tied at the base. The circular legend REPUBLICA DEL SALVADOR arcs along the upper periphery. The silver fineness '900' appears at lower left, the mint mark 'C.A.M.' in the exergue, and the date '1894' at lower right. The entire design is enclosed within a dentilated border. |
