Beschrijving keerzijde At center, the emblem of the National Intelligence Office of Thailand — a stylized multi-pointed star with traditional Thai decorative motifs and lightning bolt symbols radiating outward, enclosing a circular royal emblem at its center — is displayed within a raised concentric ring border. The upper legend in Thai script reads the 50th anniversary inscription with the date 1 January 2547 (2004), while the lower portion of the field bears the name of the issuing office and its parent ministry in Thai script. Aanvullende informatie

Issued to mark the 57th anniversary of Thailand's National Intelligence Office, which traces its founding to a 1947 directive under the post-coup government that followed the overthrow of Prime Minister Thawal Thamrong. The NIO anniversary series are among the more obscure commemorative issues of Rama IX's long reign — struck in modest quantities and largely absent from international markets, they circulate almost exclusively within Thai collector networks.
