| Obverse description | Printed in dark brown on a salmon-pink guilloche underprint, the note is framed by an ornate letterpress border of fine lace-like scrollwork. The denomination "Fünfzig Millionen Mark" is set in bold Gothic blackletter script across the upper portion of the central text panel, below which a serial number and a block of Gothic-type text stipulate the conditions of acceptance by public treasuries of the Regierungsbezirk Trier and the Provinz Birkenfeld. A vertical left-side panel in deep red carries the numeral "50.000.000" in large white characters within an elaborately patterned guilloche column, and the note is dated "TRIER, den 14. August 1923" with facsimile committee signatures at lower right. |

A large watermark-style underprint of the text "Fünfzig Millionen Mark" in outline Gothic lettering fills the centre of the field, with the numeral "50.000.000" in bold upright figures below it, flanked by dot separators.
