| Obverse description | Typeset Notgeld note printed in purple-violet on plain paper, enclosed within a multi-line wavy guilloche border. The denomination numeral '50' appears in a star-burst vignette at upper centre, with the value inscription 'Fünfzig Milliarden Mark' in bold Gothic letterpress script across the centre of the note. A red-overprinted rectangular panel at left bears the validity inscription confirming acceptance throughout the Regierungsbezirk Pfalz until 1 April 1924. The issuing authority, date of issue (Speyer, den 1. Oktober 1923), and multiple manuscript signatures appear in the lower portion. |
