| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse depicts two fencers in dynamic combat, rendered in high relief against a polished proof field; one figure lunges forward with épée extended while the opponent parries in a defensive stance, both clad in full fencing attire with masks and jackets. The inscription 'OLYMPIC GAMES' curves along the upper rim in Latin lettering, with 'ATHENS 2004' positioned below it toward the center-left of the design. The denomination '5 WON' is displayed in two lines in the lower right field. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
North Korea issued a steady stream of commemorative silver pieces throughout the late 1990s and 2000s, almost none of which circulated domestically — foreign currency earnings through collector sales were the actual purpose. This piece, nominally denominated in Won, was struck a full year before the Athens Games and sold almost exclusively through European and Asian numismatic dealers, never approaching the North Korean public.
