Reverse description The elaborate Hanoverian Royal Arms of George IV displayed on a large ornate shield, reproduced after the original sovereign design of 1821. The quartered shield bears the arms of England (three lions passant guardant), Scotland (lion rampant), Ireland (harp), and Hanover (crowned inescutcheon), surmounted by the Imperial State Crown rendered in fine detail. The shield is set within a decorative baroque mantle with scrollwork supports. The Latin legend arcs to the left and right of the composition in the field, identifying the arms as those of George IV, King of the Britains.
