| Beschrijving voorzijde | Unilateral white note printed entirely in intaglio on unwatermarked paper, with a vignette of a seated Britannia within an ornate cartouche at the upper left. The face is dominated by elaborate copperplate script setting out the promise to pay, the denomination in gothic bold type at lower left, and the date and place of issue in cursive script across the centre, with the serial number repeated three times. The Chief Cashier's manuscript signature appears at lower right alongside the printed legend for the Governor and Company of the Bank of England. |
