Beschrijving voorzijde Central device features a stylized Egyptian vulture displayed with wings spread wide, its head facing forward, rendered in a classicizing ancient Egyptian artistic style. Above the bird, the country name in Kufic Arabic script reads 'Arab Republic of Egypt,' surmounted by a lotus flower emblem. The denomination '5 LE' appears in Latin numerals and script to the left, with the Arabic equivalent '٥ جـ' to the right. Dual dates in both Gregorian (1993) and Hijri (1414) numerals, in both Western and Eastern Arabic forms, flank the bird along the lower rim. The abbreviation 'A·R·E' is inscribed in the central field above the vulture, and the mint mark 'ECC' appears in the exergue below.

Beschrijving keerzijde A highly detailed, sculptural depiction of the three Great Pyramids of Giza fills the central field, rendered in high relief with carefully engraved stonework conveying the massive limestone courses of the ancient monuments. The pyramids are shown in a three-quarter perspective against a smooth, mirror-polished background field, with undulating desert sands depicted in the lower foreground. The design is contained within a broad decorative border of alternating raised rectangular and rounded link elements forming an ornamental inner ring. No legends or inscriptions appear on the reverse.
