Reverse description The reverse depicts a Pharaonic vessel carrying figures beneath a stylized map of the Suez Canal, presented as the central compositional element. To the left of the central device appear grain spikes (ears of wheat), while to the right is displayed the modern flag of Egypt, with the commemorative dates 1956–1981 incorporated into the design. The entire composition is enclosed within two arcing laurel or olive branches framing the lower and lateral fields. The inscribed legend 'The Silver Jubilee of the Nationalization of the Suez Canal Company' (العيد الفضي لتاميم قناة السويس) arcs across the upper portion of the reverse.
