| Описание реверса | A three-quarter-length frontal effigy of the Sheikh El Balad, modeled after the famous ancient Egyptian painted limestone statue from the Old Kingdom, occupies the full field. The figure is depicted standing upright, slightly corpulent in form, holding a long staff in his right hand, with his left arm hanging naturally at his side. The rendering faithfully captures the naturalistic qualities of the original sculptural source, including the facial expression and draped garment. The field is otherwise plain, with no legends or inscriptions, allowing the sculptural portrait to dominate. The border repeats the alternating reeded-and-plain inner rim pattern seen on the obverse. |
