Beschrijving voorzijde A stylized Egyptian vulture with wings fully spread occupies the central field, rendered in high relief with detailed feathering. The legend جمهورية مصر العربية (Arab Republic of Egypt) appears in Arabic script above the bird, flanked by the Latin initials A·R·E. The denomination 5 LE and its Arabic equivalent ٥ جـ are inscribed to the left and right respectively, while the dual dates 1415 / 1994 and their Arabic-numeral equivalents ١٤١٥ / ١٩٩٤ are placed along the lower sides. A stylized lotus flower motif crowns the upper field, and the mint marks E / CC appear at the base below the vulture. The border features a distinctive alternating reeded-and-plain inner rim pattern.
Schrift voorzijde Arabic, Latin

Beschrijving keerzijde A three-quarter-length frontal effigy of the Sheikh El Balad, modeled after the famous ancient Egyptian painted limestone statue from the Old Kingdom, occupies the full field. The figure is depicted standing upright, slightly corpulent in form, holding a long staff in his right hand, with his left arm hanging naturally at his side. The rendering faithfully captures the naturalistic qualities of the original sculptural source, including the facial expression and draped garment. The field is otherwise plain, with no legends or inscriptions, allowing the sculptural portrait to dominate. The border repeats the alternating reeded-and-plain inner rim pattern seen on the obverse.
