| Obverse description | Central field features the Eagle of Saladin with outstretched wings, serving as the national emblem of the Arab Republic of Egypt, with the abbreviation 'A·R·E' inscribed across its body. Above the eagle, a stylized lotus flower crown motif is displayed, flanked by Arabic inscriptions in decorative Kufic-style script. The denomination '5 LE' appears to the left and its Arabic numeral equivalent '٥' to the right, with dual dates in both Gregorian (1993) and Hijri (1414) calendars rendered in Latin and Arabic-Indic numerals on either side of the field. The mint mark 'E CC' is inscribed at the bottom of the field beneath the eagle. The coin is struck in proof quality with a deeply mirrored field and segmented decorative border. |
