Beschrijving voorzijde Central field features a stylized spread-winged vulture depicted in the ancient Egyptian manner, with wings fully extended and head facing forward. Above the vulture, the Arabic legend جمهورية مصر العربية (Jumhūrīyat Miṣr al-ʻArabīyah, Arabic Republic of Egypt) is inscribed in two lines, surmounted by an Egyptian lotus blossom ornament. The abbreviation A·R·E appears in the field between the wings. The denomination 5 LE in Latin script and ٥ جـ in Arabic numerals and script appear to the left and right respectively, with dual dates in both Gregorian and Hijri calendars (1993/1994 and ١٤١٤/١٤١٥) flanking the design. The mint mark E/CC appears in the exergue below the vulture. The rim features a decorative border of alternating rectangular and circular pellet elements.
Schrift voorzijde Arabic, Latin

Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse features a high-relief rendition of the famous ancient Egyptian ivory statuette of Pharaoh Khufu (Cheops), builder of the Great Pyramid of Giza, depicted seated on a throne and facing left. The king wears the Red Crown of Lower Egypt and holds a flail or implement in his right hand, with a pleated kilt draped over his lap. The sculptural representation closely follows the celebrated small statuette held in the Egyptian Museum, Cairo, and occupies the full central field. The plain field is framed by the same decorative alternating rectangular and pellet border as the obverse, with no additional legend or inscription.
