| Reversbeschreibung | The reverse features a high-relief rendition of the famous ancient Egyptian ivory statuette of Pharaoh Khufu (Cheops), builder of the Great Pyramid of Giza, depicted seated on a throne and facing left. The king wears the Red Crown of Lower Egypt and holds a flail or implement in his right hand, with a pleated kilt draped over his lap. The sculptural representation closely follows the celebrated small statuette held in the Egyptian Museum, Cairo, and occupies the full central field. The plain field is framed by the same decorative alternating rectangular and pellet border as the obverse, with no additional legend or inscription. |
