Additional information

Issued to mark the International Year of the Child, a UN initiative that ran in 1979 — meaning Egypt's commemorative arrived two years after the event itself. This kind of delayed release was not unusual for the Central Bank of Egypt's commemorative program during this period, where production schedules frequently slipped against announced themes.
