Obverse description Central device features an elaborate calligraphic composition in the Arabic thuluth script, depicting the name of the Arab Republic of Egypt rendered in interlaced decorative lettering that fills the central field. Above the calligraphy, a stylized minaret or torch motif rises prominently, flanked on either side by two circular cartouches containing additional Arabic inscriptions. The lower portion of the field carries the dual date in Arabic-Eastern numerals, reading ١٤١٥–١٩٩٤ (AH 1415 – AD 1994). The entire design is enclosed within a dentilated inner border with a plain rim.

Reverse description The central field displays the official emblem of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD), consisting of a stylized group of three human figures of differing heights arranged before a triangular pyramid form, with ascending bar-graph elements suggesting population growth, below which the Latin legend ICPD CAIRO appears in incuse lettering. To the right of the emblem the numeral 94 denotes the conference year. A continuous Arabic legend arcs around the upper periphery within the dentilated border, identifying the conference as the International Conference on Population and Development. Along the lower rim, Arabic text records the conference dates: 5–13 September 1994.
