Obverse description Central device depicts the Egyptian vulture with wings spread wide, facing left, rendered in a stylized heraldic manner with detailed feather work. The legend جمهورية مصر العربية (Arab Republic of Egypt) appears in two lines in Arabic script in the upper field, with the abbreviation A·R·E inscribed across the bird's body. The denomination 5 LE and its Arabic equivalent ٥ جـ flank the design on the left and right respectively, with the dual-dated year 1415 / 1994 and its Arabic numeral equivalents ١٤١٥ / ١٩٩٤ arranged along the lower periphery. A stylized lotus flower motif crowns the upper field above the legend. The mint mark E / CC appears in the lower exergue beneath the vulture.

Reverse description A detailed architectural view of the Karnak Temple complex at Luxor occupies the entire field, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished proof background. A tall obelisk inscribed with a vertical column of hieroglyphics dominates the central composition, flanked by the massive ruined stone pylons, columns, and ashlar masonry walls of the temple precinct. The stonework is depicted with careful attention to texture and the characteristic coursed masonry of ancient Egyptian monumental architecture. The scene conveys a sense of ancient grandeur and archaeological monumentality, with partially collapsed structures visible at left and right. A beaded border encircles the entire design.
