Issued to commemorate the return of the Sinai Peninsula to Egyptian sovereignty following the implementation of the Camp David Accords, this piece was struck the same year Israeli forces completed their withdrawal from the last occupied Egyptian territory in April 1982. The EAF designation references the Egyptian Armed Forces, whose role in the October 1973 war was the political justification for the entire peace process that made the withdrawal possible.
