Obverse description Central device depicts the Eagle of Saladin with wings spread wide, rendered in relief against a mirror-polished field. Above the eagle, a stylized lotus flower ornament is positioned at the top of the design. The Arabic legend جمهورية مصر العربية (Arab Republic of Egypt) appears in two lines above the eagle, flanked on the left by the denomination 5 LE and on the right by the Arabic numeral ٥ جـ. The Latin abbreviation A·R·E is inscribed across the eagle's body. Dual dates appear along the lower rim, with the Gregorian year 1994 and Hijri year 1415 shown in both Arabic-Indic and Western numerals, alongside the mint mark E/CC in the exergue.
