Additional information

Part of Cuba's long-running "Seven Wonders of the Ancient World" gold series, this issue was produced during a period when the Cuban government was aggressively pursuing hard-currency revenue through collector coin programs — exporting numismatic products while the domestic economy remained dollarized following the 1990s Special Period crisis. The coins were never intended for internal circulation.
