To the lower left, an anchor and cannon underprint vignette appears, while to the lower right an oval-framed portrait of a young woman in three-quarter view completes the decorative field. The issuer's title 'BANCO COMERCIAL DE SANTA FE' runs across the upper register in bold letterpress, with 'CINCO PESOS' and a manuscript date of 2 January 1869 inscribed in the central text panel.

背面描述	Printed in olive-brown, the reverse is composed entirely of intricate lathe-work guilloche patterns arranged in bilateral symmetry. Two large circular guilloche medallions, each enclosing the numeral '5', flank a central oval panel bearing the word 'CINCO' within a fine decorative border, with 'EL BANCO COMERCIAL' and 'DE SANTA FE' inscribed above and below in intaglio lettering. A continuous geometric lace-work border frames the entire reverse field.
