| Obverse description | Printed in green and black, the obverse centres on a vignette of a rearing horse set against a background with a steam locomotive and train cars, flanked by two guilloche numeral medallions each bearing the value '5'. To the lower left, an anchor and cannon underprint vignette appears, while to the lower right an oval-framed portrait of a young woman in three-quarter view completes the decorative field. The issuer's title 'BANCO COMERCIAL DE SANTA FE' runs across the upper register in bold letterpress, with 'CINCO PESOS' and a manuscript date of 2 January 1869 inscribed in the central text panel. |
