Opmerkingen

Waterlow & Sons printed for the Banco Central through much of the 1950s, but their contract relationship with Dominican authorities carries an uncomfortable footnote: Waterlow was also the firm that printed the fraudulent Peruvian bonds at the center of the 1929 Waterlow & Sons v. Silva case, a scandal that nearly destroyed the company and forced a fundamental restructuring of its security printing operations. By 1959 the firm was operating in its final years — Waterlow was acquired by De La Rue in 1961.

Pick 81 falls within a series issued under the Trujillo dictatorship, which collapsed in 1961 following his assassination.
