| Obverse description | Diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Justinian I facing right, rendered in the late antique imperial portrait style typical of early Byzantine coinage. The effigy displays the emperor's characteristic diadem and military dress, with visible paludamentum fastened at the shoulder. The surrounding field carries the imperial Latin legend. Due to the small module and hammered fabric of this pentanummium, surface detail is heavily worn, though the rightward-facing bust remains identifiable within the dotted border. |

| Reverse description | Central field dominated by a large Greek numeral Є (epsilon), denoting the denomination of 5 nummi, with a small letter S (officina mark) positioned to the right. The design is stark and utilitarian, consistent with the minor copper coinage of the Thessalonica mint under Justinian I. The coin is encircled by a dotted border, and the overall fabric reflects the irregular hammered technique characteristic of this issue. No exergual inscription is present. |
