| 裏面の説明 | A seated coiner strikes a coin by hand using a hammer and punch at an anvil block, evoking the ancient craft of hand minting; a balance scale with two suspended pans is depicted prominently in the background, symbolising monetary precision and the assay process. The mintmaster's crossed-hammer mark is visible on the anvil block in the lower left field. The commemorative legend 'KRONEMYNT I 100 ÅR' arcs along the upper periphery, while the inclusive centennial dates '1875 - 1975' appear in the lower exergue. The engraver's initials 'ØH' and the mintmaster's initials 'AB' are present in the field. |

Norway's krone system turned 100 in 1975, having been established in 1875 when the country joined the Scandinavian Monetary Union alongside Sweden and Denmark. That union collapsed during World War I, but the currency itself survived — through occupation, postwar reconstruction, and the 1972 devaluation — to reach its centenary.
KM#421 was a one-year type, struck specifically for the anniversary with no preceding or subsequent issues in the series.
