| Obverse description | The obverse features the Ukrainian state trident (tryzub) at the top centre, rendered in relief against a plain field. Below, the issuer's name НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ curves across the upper portion of the field in two lines, flanked on either side by stylised folk-art decorative motifs in a traditional Ukrainian ornamental style executed in selective matte and mirror finishes. The denomination 5 ГРИВЕНЬ is prominently displayed in the centre of the field. At the lower left the fineness and weight indicator Ag 925 / 15.55 appears alongside the date 2009 at bottom centre, with the mint mark of the Banknote Printing and Minting Works to the lower right. |
