In the lower half, the denomination 5 ГРИВЕНЬ and the issue year 2011 appear, with the mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine Banknote Printing and Minting Works positioned to their right. The central field bears an allegorical composition symbolizing the disciplines recognized by the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine, comprising an open book, a quill, a painter's palette, and brushes.
