| Obverse description | The obverse features a decorative composition in the lower half of the field depicting a rural Ukrainian landscape with a wattled fence and dense foliage, evoking the pastoral imagery of Tychyna's poetry. To the left, a flowering plant rendered in high relief rises prominently against the mirror-polished field. Across the upper portion of the field, five lines of italic script reproduce a celebrated verse excerpt by Pavlo Tychyna. The legend НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ arcs along the upper rim, with the small Ukrainian State Emblem (trident) centered above at twelve o'clock. The denomination П'ЯТЬ ГРИВЕНЬ is inscribed along the lower rim, with the date 2011 positioned in the right field. |

| Reverse description | The reverse presents a three-quarter bust portrait of the Ukrainian poet Pavlo Tychyna seated at a writing desk, his right hand raised pensively to his cheek, with an open book before him. Behind the figure, stylised architectural elements and stacked books fill the background in a modernist composition. In the lower exergue, the poet's facsimile signature Павло Тичина is rendered in cursive script, followed by his birth and death years 1891 - 1967 in Roman numerals below. The entire composition is executed in frosted relief against a mirror-polished proof field. |
