| Obverse description | The obverse features a composite design evoking Ukraine's maritime heritage. In the upper right quadrant, a detailed compass rose with cardinal direction indicators (N, W, E) is rendered in high relief against a mirror field. At centre-left, a stylized ribbon bearing the Cyrillic legend МОРСЬКА ІСТОРІЯ УКРАЇНИ (Maritime History of Ukraine) sweeps diagonally across the field, overlying a textured wave pattern that fills the lower and left portions of the design.
