Woudrichem issued this piece in 1998 as a local trade token — one of dozens of Dutch municipal "gulden" pieces that circulated briefly in regional markets and festivals during the late 1990s, before euro conversion made the exercise moot. The 't Vroon designation ties it to a specific locality within the Woudrichem municipality, a small fortified town at the confluence of the Maas and Waal rivers.
