Obverse description Letterpress-printed note in blue on plain paper stock. A standing rooster vignette appears at right, with a seated lion at left; sword-on-column motifs flank both sides of the design. The face bears the denomination '5 Francs' in bold central lettering, surrounded by the issuing authority inscription and date '1917'.

Reverse description Plain cream paper reverse bearing two applied handstamps: a circular ink stamp at centre-right reading the full depot title around its border, enclosing the initials 'D.O.' and 'P.G.' with a handwritten signature of the Commandant, and a separate violet oval handstamp at upper left bearing 'LE COMPTABLE'; the word 'COMPTABLE' also appears in a bold vertical letterpress imprint along the left margin.
