Obverse description Within a bold rotated square (diamond-oriented) frame centred in the field, the stylised denomination '5 FR' is rendered in a modernist geometric typeface inspired by Le Corbusier's architectural lettering. The legend CONFOEDERATIO HELVETICA arcs around the upper portion of the coin field, flanking the upper corners of the diamond frame. The date 1987 appears at lower left outside the frame, with the designer's initials 'hill' at lower right and the Bern mint mark 'B' at the bottom edge.
