| 正面描述 | The heraldic shield of the city of Segovia is depicted centrally, surmounted by a royal crown. The shield features the Roman aqueduct of Segovia in its lower half and a royal cipher in the upper register, rendered in fine detail against a polished proof field. The legend ESPAÑA appears along the left field and SEGOVIA along the right field, both in upright Latin characters. The date 2012 is inscribed at the base of the design, with the Madrid mint mark (M) positioned to the lower right of the shield. The entire design is framed by a continuous beaded border. |

Issued as part of Spain's long-running provincial capitals series, this piece commemorates Segovia — home to one of the most significant minting operations in Iberian history. The Real Casa de la Moneda de Segovia, established by Philip II in 1586, was the first mechanized mint in Spain, powered by the Eresma River and equipped with rolling mills and screw presses imported from Germany. It produced enormous quantities of coinage from New World silver for over two centuries.
The mint building still stands and functions today as a museum.
