| 正面描述 | A perspective architectural view of the Basilica of Santa Chiara in Naples is depicted within a central circle, rendered with fine engraved detail. Surrounding the central motif, the outer border is adorned with decorative elements inspired by the celebrated majolica-tiled cloister of the basilica. The legend REPUBBLICA ITALIANA arcs along the periphery, accompanied by the engraver's name COLANERI. The overall composition blends architectural precision with ornamental tilework motifs characteristic of the Neapolitan Baroque tradition. |

Issued as part of Italy's ongoing "Italian Art Cities" commemorative program, this piece honors the Basilica of Santa Chiara in Naples, a 14th-century Franciscan complex founded by Robert of Anjou and his wife Sancia of Majorca. The basilica was catastrophically damaged in a 1943 Allied incendiary bombing raid that reduced much of its interior to rubble, destroying frescoes attributed to Giotto's school. The postwar reconstruction, completed by 1953, was itself controversial — restorers stripped later Baroque additions to expose the original Gothic structure, a decision that remains debated among art historians.
