Obverse description The municipal coat of arms of León occupies the central field within a heraldic shield, depicting a rampant lion passant, surmounted by a royal crown. The legend ESPAÑA is inscribed along the left periphery and LEÓN along the right, both reading upward, within a beaded border. The mint mark (M) of the Royal Mint of Spain appears to the lower right of the shield, and the date 2011 is inscribed in the lower exergual area.
