Reverse description The reverse presents an allegorical composition evoking the theme of mercy and charity, depicting a veiled female figure in three-quarter profile to the right, with a second figure in the copper-nickel centre showing a woman tenderly cradling an infant against a background of stylised wheat sheaves. The denomination 5 EURO appears prominently at the upper left in large numerals and text, while the Latin inscriptions MISERICORDIAE and IVBILAEVM are arranged diagonally across the field, referencing the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy proclaimed by Pope Francis in 2015–2016. The year 2016 is incused within the central insert, and the engraver's monogram MCC appears in the lower field. Flowing foliate and decorative scroll motifs frame the composition within the bronzital outer ring.
