Obverse description The obverse features a stylized geometric composition divided into angular segments radiating from a central circular motif depicting a domed glass-and-iron structure with a sunburst pattern, evoking the architectural heritage of the Crystal Palace of Porto. The word PORTUGAL arcs prominently through the upper-left field in incuse lettering. To the lower right, the Portuguese coat of arms is rendered in relief within its traditional shield form. A five-pointed star appears at the lower left, integrated into the overall modernist design by engraver Eduardo Aires.
