To the right of the central motif, the inscription ROCK 'N' ROLL / DESDE / 1979 appears in three stacked lines in a strong serif typeface. The denomination 5€ is inscribed in the upper right field alongside the Portuguese coat of arms shield. The band name XUTOS & PONTAPÉS arcs along the upper legend, and a row of five stars is arranged along the lower inner border, all within a beaded outer rim. |

Xutos & Pontapés formed in Lisbon in 1978 and became one of the defining bands of Portugal's post-Carnation Revolution cultural opening — a generation finding its voice after nearly five decades of Estado Novo censorship. This gold issue is part of INCM's ongoing "Música Portuguesa" commemorative program, which has produced parallel strikes in base metal and silver alongside gold; the KM#959b suffix confirms this as the gold variant within that multi-composition release.
